The development of an entirely new or modified product is an extensive process. In order to manage this process as accurately as possible, we have subdivided the development into various phases.
We map out the desired solution as comprehensively as possible. Our expertise and extensive manufacturing possibilities and methods offer a suitable solution for even the most complex issues. In this non-binding and exploratory phase, we make a rough estimate and aim to provide a price indication as early as possible.
Result: Quotation for design costs
Concept & Start-up
In this phase, we will look at the requirement in practice. We start by outlining the activities and details of the project and determine a global planning. In addition, we make a cost overview of the engineering, mock-up and revision phases in the form of a quotation. If the product requires certification, we aim to present the associated working methods and costs as clearly as possible.
Result:One design concept, quotation for development process, global planning and price indication for product
Research & Development
After approval of the quotation for the development process, we start with the development. Our engineers start with research and provide insight into the details and feasibility of specific product requirements.
Sampling & Innovation
The first samples are made and discussed for approval. The first samples often need to be revised. Depending on the complexity of the issue, we aim to find the final pieces of the puzzle in this phase.
Result: Detailed product proposal
First Prototype & Revision
A first prototype of the complete or partial product is delivered for evaluation. Sometimes revisions need to be made after a first prototype. This can often be done on an existing prototype. In the event of major changes or modified requirements, we go back to fase three. Depending on the agreements made, there may be additional costs for the development of a second prototype.
Prototype & Production model
This prototype is a copy of the intended end product. After written agreement, this prototype will be released. By means of this prototype, the production method will be mapped out with any necessary moulds and templates. This prototype is also the production model for performing tests for the desired certifications.
Result: Prototype of intended end product
Certification & Testing
If required, a certification procedure is applied for and initiated.
Depending on the project agreements, partial invoicing takes place for production models and the certification procedures to be applied for. Sometimes several prototypes are required for certification at different levels. Test results for certification can sometimes give unexpected results. Depending on the complexity of the product and the certification, a rejection may require engineers to go back to the drawing board and use the knowledge they have gained to build a new prototype to pass the relevant certification tests.
Result: Test reports and certification
The first batch of the final product is produced, which is called the pre-production run. In this phase, all tools, moulds and templates are set up and specifically prepared and purchased for the desired production quantities. During the pre-production run, the speed and details of the production become clear. In this phase, the final cost of the finished product can be determined.
Production & Quality check
After approval and determination of the prices, the product is ready for production. Depending on the desired quantities and delivery dates, the production line and any packaging are set up in detail for production. As far as possible, all production takes place in-house. Before delivery of each batch, our thorough quality check ensures that quality is maintained.
Result: Production-ready product
